When we first started I thought we were making a film about death. We were confronted with many difficult conversations about the ethics and morality of filming this man's brave decision to face mortality on his own terms. But something profound happened along the way - we found ourselves documenting life in all its messy, beautiful complexity.
Through Jason's journey, we're exploring questions that face us all: How do we measure time? What makes life worth living? How do we find love when we least expect it? What’s enough?
Our small team has poured hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars into capturing this story with the intimacy and respect it deserves. We've had many of the days any filmmaker hopes for - changed by what we've witnessed.
This film is more timely and necessary than ever. In a world that often turns away from death, this film looks directly at it - and in doing so, discovers something profound about living.
